Research iPad™ tablet computing in customer relation management systems

With the introduction of low-cost, high availability tablet computing solutions, such as the Apple iPad™, an array of new possibilities and opportunities have opened up. Applications and information systems within the electronic government (eGOV)  are no exception and we would like to see the tablet computer as a true alternative to lugging a heavy and inaccessible laptop around.

Our KlantContactSysteem (KCS), or Customer Contact System, is a tried and proven multi-channel application which is powered by a Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) layer and a plethora of communication adapters to other systems. Hundreds of thousands of users are using our KCS every day to follow their requests and processes uniformly.

As a usability expert, you will be researching the application of low-cost tablet computers, such as the iPad™, to our KlantContactSysteem and create a custom interface, using the strong graphical and user-interface foundations of the iPad™.

We expect you to have a firm basis in web and mobile technology. Previous application development experience with the iPod™ or iPhone™ is a plus. Your results will be used for further development, as such we require good reporting and researching skills in the area of user-interfaces.
