Researching front office GIS applications for municipalities

The Geographic Information System (GIS) is an information system which manages, saves, configures, analyses, integrates and presents geographical data and information. With the GIS, scrambled information is made insightful and clear. Within local governments, the GIS is mostly used for spatial planning. However, the role that GIS could potentially assume is much larger. This could include revealing information about local problems, allowing detailed reactions to zoning plans or the mapping of risks.

During this internship you’ll research the possibilities of combining the GIS with Exxellence Group’s application suite.  At the same time you’ll research if local governments have the wish to increase their use of GIS applications for multi-purpose usage.

Affinity with geographical information systems is required. Knowledge of procedures within municipalities and local governments is a plus. The results of your internship will be used by Exxellence Group for the further development of our eMAXX Suite.
